Un secolo da Porta Pia. Riproduzione facsimile dell’edizione Napoli 1970

One hundred years since Porta Pia (Cento anni da Porta Pia, Guida Editori, Napoli, 1970) is a collection promoted by Pietro Piovani for the centenary of the conquest of Rome. As stated in his «Preamble», the book collects writings «more or less directly related [...] with September 20th», deliberately «very different» one from another. Around an «historic material» which was – and in different ways still is – a «blazing» one, contributions by prominent intellectuals of the caliber of Arturo Carlo Jemolo, Giovanni Spadolini, Mario Vinciguerra, Giuseppe Galasso, Ruggero Moscati, Ennio Di Nolfo, Fernando Manzotti, Luigi Lotti, Fulvio Tessitore, Silvia Rota Ghibaudi, Antonio Cestaro, Francesco Lazzari, Nino Valeri, Francesco Margiotta Broglio and Pietro Piovani himself are here brought together. This rich and «acknowledged heterogeneity» witnesses to the «spirit of freedom that would like to be the general feature of this book, its almost ideal flag, its substantially unified method». This collection, since a long time unavailable, is here reproduced in a facsimile edition, therefore in image mode only.
